That’s right, you read the headline! I’m going to start blogging my basement gaming adventures. By ‘basement’ I mean that I will mostly be trying to reserve this to talking about games that are not current gen, the games you most commonly find...in the basement. You see over my years of collecting games I have accumulated a decent seized collection of old titles ranging from Atari up to current gen. And more and more I find myself going to play them rather then want to go purchase a current gen game, so I want to write about the games I play that don’t get any attention anymore. Some of my favorite games and systems are Sega so expect to see Genesis, Saturn, and Dreamcast games. Maybe the occasional import, talking about old mods, homebrew/fan games, and all that good yummy stuff.

And now I thought I would share a few images of the set up that I will be doing said gaming at. I recently acquired some extra space in a move and decided to take over this corner of the basement as my classic gaming pad. Behold my work in progress!:

So here I have the actual entertainment center that features most of the old gen consoles all run into two composite switch boxes. We have : NES,SNES,N64,Gamecube,Wii,PS1,PS2,PS3 (currently disconnected and upstairs),Genesis,Saturn,Dreamcast,Xbox,Xbox 360. I have an Atari as well, but its off to the side until I find or build a rack to place it above the Saturn and get the Saturn off of the Xbox. And in case anyone is curious that’s a set of arcade sticks for the Saturn chilling on top. And a Blaze Duel arcade stick for the PS1/PS2. Now this all runs into a SD projector seen in action here:

And as many of you may know certain game accessories will not work on a projector or HD tv. This includes light guns, dance pads, and guitar hero controllers sooooo I also have an SD tv on a kitchen cart :] Simply pull it up and connect the main RCA out and all set to go ;] And last but not least I have this small cabinet next to the set up that features some helmets, games, and other junk:

Anybody else have any sweet set ups that they would like to share? Drop some pics in the comments! Or possibly recommendations for games you’d like me to play?
